Three Men File New Lawsuits Accusing Diddy of Rape and Sexual Assault
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing fresh allegations of rape and sexual assault after three men filed lawsuits against the music mogul in New York Supreme Court. The accusations, stemming from incidents alleged to have occurred between 2019 and 2022, claim the rapper drugged and assaulted the plaintiffs.
The lawsuits paint a disturbing picture of events at parties hosted by Mr. Combs, where two plaintiffs allege they were offered drinks that caused them to lose consciousness. They claim they woke to discover they had been raped.
Diddy’s legal team has dismissed the lawsuits as “completely false,” labeling the accusations as “full of lies” in a statement to the BBC. “We will prove these claims false and seek sanctions against the unethical lawyers who filed them,” the statement said. Mr. Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, having been denied bail three times.
Over 30 Cases Filed Against Combs
These latest lawsuits join a growing list of allegations against Mr. Combs, with over 30 civil cases accusing him of sexual assault dating back to the 1990s. Attorney Thomas Giuffra, who represents the three men in these new cases, told the BBC that his office has received claims from over 60 individuals regarding Mr. Combs. After investigating, they chose to move forward with these specific cases.
The plaintiffs have opted to remain anonymous due to fears of retaliation, citing the rapper’s influence and reach.
Details of the Allegations
One plaintiff, referred to as John Doe, alleges that he was assaulted by Mr. Combs following an encounter at a private afterparty at New York’s Marquee nightclub in 2019. According to the lawsuit, Mr. Combs offered him a cocktail that left him disoriented. The man claims he later regained partial consciousness to find himself being raped, with a man and woman recording the assault. The following morning, he was allegedly handed $2,500 by the individuals recording, who claimed the money was from Mr. Combs.
Another plaintiff alleges he attended a party at Mr. Combs’ East Hampton home in the summer of 2020, where he lost consciousness after consuming alcohol provided by the rapper. The lawsuit claims the plaintiff was raped by Mr. Combs and others affiliated with Bad Boys Entertainment.
The third man, who had reportedly worked for Mr. Combs since 2006, alleges that during a meeting in February 2020 to discuss unpaid wages, the rapper drugged him. He claims to have awakened to Mr. Combs assaulting him and alleges the rapper threatened him, saying no one would believe his story if he went to the police.
Federal Criminal Charges and Upcoming Trial
In addition to these lawsuits, Mr. Combs is facing federal criminal charges tied to allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering. Prosecutors accuse the rapper of orchestrating a scheme involving sexual exploitation and drug-fueled events featuring male sex workers. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
A trial is scheduled for May, with Mr. Combs’ legal team maintaining his innocence and vowing to fight the accusations in court.
