Elon Musk and Donald Trump to Spend Election Night Together in Florida
Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and X, plans to spend election night with former President Donald Trump in Florida, as confirmed by CBS News, the BBC’s US partner.
Musk, who has been actively supporting the Republican candidate’s campaign across key swing states, will join Trump for the night’s events in Palm Beach. While specific details are unclear, both Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s residence, and the Palm Beach Convention Center, where thousands of Trump’s supporters will gather, are expected venues. According to a source close to Musk, he and Trump are set to be together during the evening.
Trump recently told reporters he would be hosting “a very special group of people, many of whom you know” at Mar-a-Lago. He also mentioned the possibility of making an appearance at the larger gathering at the convention center.
Earlier this year, Musk announced his endorsement of Trump, despite previous statements suggesting the former president should retire from politics. His political action committee, America PAC, has contributed over $119 million to the election efforts this cycle.
Meanwhile, other political figures will be hosting their own watch events across the country. Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon will be at the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC—famous for its association with the efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. Bannon was recently released from federal prison after serving four months for contempt of Congress.
In the nation’s capital, Vice President Kamala Harris will watch the election results at Howard University, her alma mater. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are set to observe the results with senior staff and aides at the White House.
