Hulk Hogan Stirs Controversy with Kamala Harris Comments at Promotional Event
Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan recently sparked controversy with remarks made at a promotional event, where he joked about body-slamming Vice President Kamala Harris and questioned her racial identity. The 71-year-old legend, speaking to an energized crowd, asked, “Do you want me to body slam Kamala Harris?! How about dropping the leg on her?”—referencing one of his signature wrestling moves.
The comments, captured in a video obtained by TMZ, were made during an event promoting Hogan’s new beer. The timing of the remarks comes at a sensitive moment, with heightened concerns about violent political rhetoric following an assassination attempt on Donald Trump nearly six weeks ago.
Hogan didn’t stop there, making additional remarks about Harris’s background, specifically her Indian heritage. Harris, the daughter of an Indian mother and Jamaican father, has often been at the center of discussions about her biracial identity. Hogan provocatively asked the crowd, “Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian?” He then followed this up with an outdated and stereotypical greeting, commonly associated with Native American culture.
The video concludes with Hogan acknowledging the potential backlash, stating, “That was not me, that was the beer talking.” He also noted, “I’m gonna get heat for that one.”
Hogan’s management has been approached by the BBC for comment on the incident. The remarks follow a recent attack by Trump on Harris’s racial identity, where he falsely claimed she only recently began identifying as Black.
Last month, Hogan made headlines at the Republican National Convention, where he gave a rousing speech in support of Trump and revealed a vest emblazoned with Trump’s name and that of his running mate, JD Vance.
Hogan’s controversial statements come as the Democratic National Convention unfolds in Chicago, where Kamala Harris is expected to be formally endorsed as the party’s candidate for the upcoming November election.
